"You Want a Better You – Where to Start?"

You Want A better You - Where to Start?

It’s no secret that exercise is beneficial. It is common knowledge that moving your body has a positive impact both mentally and physically. Just simply scrolling on social media you can see countless influencers, pushing their workout routine that promises a six pack or selling a supplement that you absolutely NEED to add into your daily life. This can be overwhelming to someone trying to start. If this is you focus up, let’s simplify this.

All You Need Is Space

You don’t need to start with a 4 AM morning routine however if this works for you, great, keep going! To start, you just need a space. I have found that the best way to work out is to find an area where my kids can play safely and I grab my set of dumbbells. The fall weather in the Lehigh Valley is currently gorgeous so you can take your kids outside while you grab those dumbbells or use your body weight. While your kids are doing their thing, this is also a great time for you to focus on yourself.

Celebrate Those 20 Minutes

In your life, there will be times where you are dripping sweat after workout and other times you will just be happy that you got 20 minutes of movement in. If you are in a season of life where you have little kids needing snacks or needing diaper change, let’s make sure we celebrate those 20 minutes of movement. The biggest piece of advice I have to help you get started is to simply just start. Don’t overcomplicate, don’t scroll for hours looking at influencers trying to copy their program. Just grab your dumbbells and get your body moving. You don’t need hundred dollars worth of new workout outfits, your 20 year-old T-shirt will work just fine. You need to just start.

Small Movements Add Up

Fitness does not need to be complicated. Movement is the most simple part of our body. Yet women are scared to start working out because they think they don’t have a perfect routine. I am here to inspire you to start moving. You can start by adding 10 bodyweight squats in the morning or adding in a 10 minute walk throughout your day or walking up and down the stairs 10 times. Those little movements add up.

Just Start!

I’m sure every time your child tells you they’re hungry, you grab them a snack. If your body is asking for movement why would you deprive yourself of that? Just start!
